Job summary

Truist is seeking an experienced software engineer to deliver highly complex banking solutions from analysis to deployment. You will lead development, write unit tests, and mentor junior team members while coordinating with business stakeholders.

The role based in Atlanta requires on-site presence with possible hybrid/remotely eligible arrangements; travel to Atlanta is expected for reviews and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive software engineering or IT consulting experience.
• Deep knowledge of information systems and critical business processes in IT.
• Experience guiding requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Experience mentoring teammates and delivering high-quality software.
• Familiarity with banking/financial services applications listed in the ad.

• Deliver highly complex solutions with significant system linkages, dependencies, associated risk.
• Lead and perform development efforts such as analysis, design, coding/creating, and testing.
• Oversee and participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.
• Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or the use of tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.
• Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.
• Write and run unit tests.
• Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
• Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices.
• Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
• Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
• Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work.
• Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design. Actively participate in refining user stories.
• Responsible for development and developing unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
• Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
• Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

Requirements

• Must have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related technical field.
• Must have 6 years of progressive experience in software engineering positions or IT Consulting performing the following:
• Applying in-depth knowledge in information systems and understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
• Applying broad functional knowledge in requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment of applications.
• Planning and managing projects and solving complex problems by applying best practice
• Providing direction and mentoring less experienced teammates.
• Supporting various Banking/Financial Services Applications, including: Remote Deposit Capture, Wholesale Client Portal, Online Check Deposit (OCD), MiniHost Cash Balancing System, Treasury Stop Payments (TSP), Domestic & Foreign Collections Systems (DFCS), Passport, Unclaimed Property and Escheatment System (UPCS), Automation Transfer Authorization (ATA) and Voice Recognition System(VRS).
• Utilizing experience with: Microsoft Azure DevOps Continuous Deployment (CICD) Pipeline; Windows PowerShell Scripting; GitLab CICD Pipeline; RESTful API – Micro Services Architecture; Microsoft .Net, including C#, WPF, ASP.Net MVC, Web API, and Web Forms; SSIS; SSRS; SOA Web Services; and Windows VB Scripting.
• Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Truist offices in Atlanta, GA. Must be available to travel to Atlanta, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
