About the Role:

We’re seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the development of our marketing platform. This platform supports thousands of users across hundreds of tenants, and we need a strong engineer to ensure it remains performant, scalable, and innovative while driving the delivery of new features at a rapid pace.

As a key player on our DB1M team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to align on goals, understand requirements, and deliver impactful solutions. You’ll lead by example, contributing to hands-on coding, code reviews, and system design while mentoring a small team of engineers. This role also involves proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives that align with organizational objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Technical Leadership:
  • Guide other ICs and technical innovation on our team.
  • Partner with product and design teams to align technical details and translate requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Influence technical direction, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Hands-On Development:
  • Design, build, deploy, and monitor microservices using Java/Python for the backend and React/Redux for the frontend.
  • Write efficient and complex SQL queries and optimize database interactions.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the platform.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other teams to understand their needs and drive collaborative solutions.
  • Act as a technical liaison to bridge gaps between engineering and other departments.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure the platform remains cutting-edge.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in object-oriented programming (Java preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience building scalable, robust services and deploying microservices from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of backend server components, performance optimization, and system scaling.
  • Expertise in SQL and database query optimization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Even Better If You Have:
  • Experience in Data Science and/or Data Engineering
  • Experience in AWS and CI/CD deployments
  • Proficiency in web development technologies, including React, Redux, HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of Python web frameworks like Flask or Django and ORMs like SQLAlchemy.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and their practical application in solving business challenges.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and financial security. Our employees enjoy up to 100% paid premiums for Medical and Vision coverage, ensuring access to top-tier care for you and your loved ones. In addition, we provide a range of mental wellness resources, including access to Modern Health, to help support your emotional well-being. We believe in a healthy work-life harmony, which is why we offer a flexible PTO policy, 15 paid holidays in 2025—including a three-day break around July 4th and a full week off for Thanksgiving—and No Internal Meetings Fridays to give you uninterrupted time to focus on what matters most. For your financial future, we offer a competitive 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and other valuable benefits to ensure your financial peace of mind.
