Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking a Software Engineer II in Phoenix, AZ to build scalable software that connects Salesforce with the broader tech ecosystem. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, turning requirements into reliable code while partnering with engineers, Operations, and stakeholders.

You will apply a strong foundation in software engineering with Java, Apex, JavaScript, REST, databases, and integrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 3+ years developing web-based applications using Java, REST, and related web technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience with Java, Spring, Apex and JavaScript (Node.js, React, Angular).

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a member of the software engineering team, taking ownership of Salesforce and software development work.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support software solutions to deliver projects on time, within budget and scope.
  • Translate functional and non-functional requirements into designs and code, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
  • Develop and support integrations among applications, databases, third-party products, and existing infrastructure.
  • Help identify system problems and restore services, partnering with Operations to troubleshoot issues.
  • Apply testing strategies to balance quality with timelines.
  • Write technical requirements and documentation and share knowledge with teammates.
