TiLT (HearstLab) is seeking a Software Engineer II to own well-scoped features from design to production, improve reliability, and collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams. You will ship full-stack features using Python/Django on the backend and React on the frontend, write automated tests, and participate in an on-call rotation to keep systems healthy.

Ideal candidates break problems into manageable parts, estimate work accurately, and thrive in a startup/B2B SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Shipped full-stack features to production using Python/Django on the backend and React on the frontend.
• Own features from technical design through production release with clear estimates.
• Write automated tests and maintain a green CI/CD pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Own well-scoped features from design to production release.
• Reduce bugs and technical debt in components you work on.
• Write unit and integration tests and monitor production behavior.
• Participate in stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Triage production issues and raise blockers with context.
