Job summary

Audible, Inc. in Newark, NJ seeks a Software Development Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed software applications using Java, Python, C#, C++, and AWS. You will contribute across the full development cycle, mentor juniors, and help implement ONIX processing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
• 4+ years designing distributed software systems in Java, Python, C#, or C++.
• 4+ years using data structures, algorithms, and OO design to optimize code.
• 4+ years with Git or similar version control systems.
• 4+ years of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or RESTful APIs.
• 4+ years of unit/integration testing to ensure high-quality code.
• 4+ years of performance analysis/optimization for latency and throughput.
• 4+ years of applying security practices in the development lifecycle.
• 3+ years mentoring junior developers.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed software applications.
• Implement ONIX metadata processing systems with ETL and microservices.
• Translate requirements into robust, scalable software solutions.
• Participate in full development lifecycle from design to delivery and maintenance.
• Produce comprehensive software documentation.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate across teams and manage deployment pipelines.
