Job summary

Motion Industries, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Software Engineer II to design, develop, install software solutions and test to improve operations. This role contributes to system reliability and performance across multiple applications.

Under general supervision, you will manage trouble tickets, provide production support, and implement fixes with limited supervision. You will work with backend languages and frontend scripts, perform design reviews, and ensure code quality and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Manage trouble ticket resolution for multiple applications.
• Provide production support of applications in production by troubleshooting issues, proposing solutions, developing and testing fixes, and migrating solutions with limited supervision.
• Use back-end programming languages, as well as front-end script languages to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
• Code programming logic for new or existing software following design specifications.
• Work on assignments with defined parameters requiring judgment and initiative.
• Handle installation, configuration, development, workflow design, monitoring, and/or upgrade of software products.
• Monitor quality and performance of applications through testing and maintenance.
• Maintain up-to-date records of issues with existing code.
• Develop and unit test application programs per Technical Designs and obtain code reviews.
• Offer more experienced system recommendations for defined business needs.
• Obtain Tech Designs and Unit Test plan reviews and may review others' designs.
• Present work for review and sign off by peers/management.
