Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Software Development Engineer II to own multiple services and drive technical innovation from concept to launch. You’ll design and deliver scalable features for internal and external customers, reducing technical debt by deprecating legacy systems.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders and senior engineers to define the product vision, prototype solutions, and balance new feature development with operational improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Bachelor’s degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for full software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable software features across the full development lifecycle for internal and external customers.
• Own and execute end-to-end projects independently from requirements to launch.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and senior leadership to define product vision and architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and drive operational excellence to fix root causes.
• Refactor legacy services to reduce debt and enable easier future extensions.
