Software Engineer II – APNT (Onsite)

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA. Role type: Onsite. Security clearance: DoD Secret (active, existing). U.S. citizenship required.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include all phases of the software engineering life cycle: requirements analysis, design, code development, integration, verification, documentation, and support. Additional tasks may involve developing software tools, supporting field demonstrations, providing customer support, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Required:

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
• Eligibility to obtain or hold a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.

Preferred:

• Motivation to solve problems and continuously improve products.
• Understanding of real‑time embedded software development processes.
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Experience with software requirements, architectural design, functional decomposition.
• Experience with embedded hardware and real‑time systems.
• Proficiency with Eclipse, Jira, and Jama.
• Programming experience with C, C++, Ada or similar embedded languages.
• Python scripting for testing.
• Experience with Agile Scrum methodology; interest in Scrum Master role.
• Knowledge of communication systems, message handling, digital signal processing, or Kalman filter theory.
