Software Engineer II – C2BMC Program
At Northrop Grumman, we develop revolutionary systems that protect national security. This role is based in Colorado Springs, CO, and requires on‑site presence with no remote options. The position supports the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, a key component of the Missile Defense System.
Position Summary
Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable DevOps solutions and CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve automation, reliability, and system performance.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain scalable DevOps solutions and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve automation, reliability, and system performance.
- Design, build, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain complex software applications using Python, Java, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Implement enterprise‑scale network solutions, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Software‑defined Networking (SDN).
- Maintain documentation for all software, CI/CD pipelines, architecture, configuration, and tooling guides.
- Develop and enhance automation scripts and services using Python or Java to improve DevOps workflows.
- Support critical activities outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Perform any other tasks required by the program.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field *or* equivalent experience as described below.
- Minimum 2 years of experience if holding a bachelor's degree; *or* 0 years of experience with a master’s degree; *or* 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at the time of application.
- Current, active in‑scope DoD‑issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work independently on large projects.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Understanding of object‑oriented programming principles, REST API integration, and Git version control.
- Experience scripting and testing automation for software tools.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current, active in‑scope DoD‑issued Top Secret security clearance.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and basic orchestration concepts.
