Responsibilities

  • Independently design, implement, and maintain software features and components
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following standards and best practices
  • Estimate effort and deliver assigned work within agreed timelines
  • Contribute to low to mid-complexity design decisions
  • Apply established architectural patterns and engineering principles
  • Review designs and identify potential risks or improvements
  • Develop and maintain unit, integration, and component tests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects across development and test environments

Role Overview

The Software Engineer II owns implementation of features, services, or components within a defined scope. The role focuses on independent development, solid technical judgment, and contribution to design decisions, while continuing to grow depth in the organization's technology stack, tools, and practices. This role does not include peoplemanagement responsibility, but may provide informal guidance to Software Engineer I roles and contribute to team technical discussions. This position typically reports to a Software Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Senior Software Engineer (M2-M3 or T3 equivalent).

Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Feature Delivery
  • Independently design, implement, and maintain software features and components
  • Write clean, maintainable, and welltested code following standards and best practices

Design & Technical Contribution
  • Contribute to low to midcomplexity design decisions
  • Apply established architectural patterns and engineering principles
