The ML Platform team builds the core infrastructure powering Affirm's machine learning models, which assess and approve BNPL transactions, determining creditworthiness.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with your team to break down projects, deliver in phases, and ensure timely completion.
• Support product development by working with product management, design, and analytics teams.
• Maintain operational stability by creating and monitoring metrics, and supporting on-call duties.
• Participate in team growth activities, including the interview process.

Qualifications:

• At least 1.5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and launching backend systems; proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to develop solutions that involve multiple software components, with clear, tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging, and code reviews.
• Proactive in personal growth and feedback seeking.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Equivalent practical experience or a related Bachelor's degree.
