Job summary

SMS group in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Software Engineer II to design and deploy software for metals production, collaborating with developers, PMs, and stakeholders to deliver market-leading solutions that support green steel initiatives.

The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s in CS/SE, strong ReactJS frontend and C# backend skills, plus database expertise and web app experience. Travel up to 15% and onsite five days a week are expected.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent background.
• Proven expertise in frontend (ReactJS) with 3D capabilities and backend (C#) technologies.
• Sound knowledge of modern database management systems.
• At least 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably web-based applications.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in process automation systems is an advantage.
• 15% travel and onsite 5 days a week.

Software Engineer II

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and deployment of complex software solutions that are optimizing metals production. You will work closely with other developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure delivery of market leading solutions. Candidates should have a proven track record that demonstrates strong software development skills while a passion for sustainable metals production is advantageous
