As a Software Engineer II on the Assessment Squad at B Lab, you will help build and improve key features of the B Impact Assessment platform, the digital tool companies use to measure and improve their social and environmental impact as part of the B Corp Certification process. You will work within a collaborative, cross-functional squad responsible for the core user experience around the Assessment and coordinate closely with the Identity team to ensure a seamless, end-to-end experience across the full B Impact journey. Responsibilities include programming well-designed, efficient code with test coverage, maintaining existing code, participating in technical discussions, planning and analysis through story writing and sprint planning, quality assurance testing, monitoring application dashboards, identifying and prioritizing application issues, and providing application support. The role requires a BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, 3-5 years of software development experience in an agile environment, 2 years experience with Go and React + TypeScript, experience with relational databases preferably PostgreSQL, strong analytical and communication skills, and a proactive problem-solving attitude. The position is full-time, remote-first but requires residency in specific locations including New York and proximity to the New York City office. The role supports B Lab's mission to drive positive global change through technology and innovation.
