Job summary

Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) is seeking a Software Engineer II in Louisville, KY. This hybrid role supports product delivery across the full stack with guidance from senior engineers and collaboration with Product Owners and SMEs.

ARC emphasizes flexible work options and continuous learning to advance enterprise travel data solutions. You will work with AWS, microservices, Node.js, Python, Java, and React while leveraging AI tooling to accelerate development and improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 2 years internship or application programming across frontend, server-side, and database queries throughout SDLC.
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and CI/CD; exposure to Git/Gitlab, Terraform, and Jira is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience with modern tech incl. AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), microservices, and Node.js/Python/Java/React.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into production apps, with knowledge of RAG, vector databases, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with AI coding tools like GitLab Duo, GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE.
• Ability to collaborate across stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain technical info to non-technical audiences.

Software Engineer II

ARC is looking for a talented Software Engineer II to join our team! In this role, you will provide product teams with software development and product delivery support for the full product stack. You will also be responsible for product delivery and product lifecycle with direction from the Product Owner, the Solution Owner, and technical guidance from senior technical team members.

What You'll Get To Do

• Provide software development, implementation, and support for the full product stack. Responsible for product delivery and product lifecycle with direction from the Product Owner, the Solution Owner and technical guidance from Sr. team member.
• Partner with product owners and business SMEs to analyze business needs and provide a supportable and sustainable engineered solution. Ensure that the overall technical solution is aligned with the business needs.
• Drive the creation and modifications of the product portfolio components, identify and engage all technical resources necessary to contribute to the solution. Ensure the solution is consistent with ARC architecture, design and development standards.
• Develop applications using industry best practices. Adopt new methodologies that provide the business with increased flexibility and agility.
• Stay current with latest development tools, technology ideas, patterns and methodologies; share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to key stakeholders.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2 years/Internship of application programming in both front-end user interfaces, server-side application, and database queries with knowledge across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. Exposure to GIT/Gitlab, Terraform, and Jira is a plus.
• 2+ years of preferred experience or good understanding of software development using modern technologies, including AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), microservices and containerized architectures, and open-source technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, and React.
• Working knowledge of integrating AI and LLM APIs into production applications, with some knowledge of RAG, vector databases, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as GitLab Duo, GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE, and similar tools to accelerate and improve software development workflows.
• Ability to work with a group through an architectural development process and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to discover and define functional requirements and to transform them into technical requirements and solution definition with minimal guidance.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management, including communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Intellectual curiosity to continually challenge what exists and explores what should be changed to best meet evolving business and market.
• A strong passion for supporting peers to help meet timelines on larger projects.
