Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, seeks a Software Engineer II for its Automatic Tank Gauge team in the Michigan area. The role focuses on designing and deploying software solutions for tank gauges and related platforms, with collaboration across cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

You will work with modern stacks, emphasize Agile practices, and contribute to building robust, scalable solutions for fuel management systems.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages (C++ or Java preferred)
• Project leadership experience preferred
• Experience with continuous integration and automated test technologies is useful
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON is useful
• Experience with AWS or Azure (and associated services) is useful

• Design, develop, and execute software solutions to address business needs on our Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms
• Bring knowledge of newer technology stacks and frameworks and help the team adopt them
• Use Agile methodologies to improve the effectiveness of Agile teams

What you will do

• Design, develop, and execute software solutions to address business needs on our Automated Tank Gauge and related platforms
• Bring your knowledge of newer technology stacks and frameworks, and identify where they should be applied, helping the rest of the team get up to speed.
• Use your experience with Agile methodologies to improve the working of our Agile teams
• Collaborate with peers, electrical and mechanical development teams, quality assurance and others as needed to produce game changing solutions
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in design and coding as well as transfer technical knowledge about newer technologies

Who You Are

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3-5 Years of experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages. Ideally C++ or Java.
• Project leadership experience is preferred
• Experience with continuous integration and automated test technologies is useful
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON is useful
• Experience with AWS or Azure (and associated services) is useful

The base compensation range for this position is $96,800 to $120,000 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
