The Partner Merchant Interfaces - Integration team within Decisions Foundations is growing, and we are looking for a Software Engineer II with a track record of leading projects and initiatives on the Partner Merchant Interfaces Team. You will be part of a fast-paced team responsible for the APIs that Partners and Merchants use to integrate with Affirm, and also power some of our top partners like Amazon and Stripe.

What You'll Do

• Support your team in breaking down larger projects into tasks, deliver in phases, and collaborate for timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics in the product development lifecycle, participating in ideation and decision-making.
• Support operations by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and supporting 'keep the lights on' and on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team community through growth activities like participating in interviews.

What We Look For

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems; proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to develop solutions interacting with multiple software components, writing clear, tested, and extensible code.
• Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing code review feedback.
• Proactive in growth and feedback seeking.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Pay Grade - L

Equity Grade - 6

Base pay ranges from $142,000 to $210,000 annually depending on location and experience, with additional benefits including equity, stipends, and comprehensive health coverage.

Affirm is a remote-first company, with flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S., with some roles requiring occasional office presence.
