Do you want to build integrated systems on world-class Collins platforms? Do you enjoy pulling together a system to create a bigger picture? Do you enjoy networks and watching data flow through a system? As a system integration software engineer, you will provide the operating environment for our application teams and support them with tools and troubleshooting for integration points between applications.
Our Military Avionics Central System Integration team works across engineering disciplines to deliver world-class avionics systems to warfighters on tankers, helicopter, and cargo aircraft.
You will create and maintain system configuration files, including configuration of operating systems, network interfaces, and ARINC-429 and MIL-STD-1553 bus I/O.
You will assist our Collins and third-party teams with lab systems, manage the software configuration on lab assets, and support hardware/software troubleshooting in our system integration facilities.
You will support the systems engineering teams with measurement of system technical performance measures, including CPU throughput, RAM utilization, and network and bus utilization.
You will create the Collins Avionics system field-loadable mediasets and manage the customer release of top-level Collins software products.
You will learn the artifacts for system configuration for Collins avionics hardware.
You will learn about the protocols used on the networks and buses between systems and subsystems in our avionics solutions.
You will learn the key software integration points for multiple avionics subsystems, including OS configurations, device drivers, network I/O, memory access, and avionics bus data access.
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), such as Computer Science, obtained prior to start
Experience with C/C++/Java programming languages
Experience with Python scripting
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Experience in aerospace and defense

Relocation, if eligible
The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
