Job summary

Atlantic City Electric, part of Exelon, is seeking a software engineer to design, build, test, and maintain applications under senior guidance. The role emphasizes CC&B familiarity, Java and Groovy development, and collaboration across IT and business teams.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s in CS or related field and 6–9 years’ combined education/experience or 2–5 years in CIS apps with Java. Baltimore/Philadelphia area locations offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (e.g., Computer Science or related) with 2–5 years in CIS apps in Java, or 6–9 years of combined education/experience.
• Strong software development capabilities and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent teamwork and self-motivation in a fast-changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills in technical and non-technical terms.
• Solid knowledge of Windows, Solaris or Linux; programming in Java, .NET, C#, HTML, Angular, TypeScript.
• Relational databases knowledge; write basic SQL queries.
• Experience consuming and building APIs; able to troubleshoot.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, improve, design, develop, test, deploy and maintain solutions meeting requirements.
• Design and build CC&B modules using JAVA and Groovy; extend configurations.
• Collaborate with teams to coordinate delivery and minimize risk.
• Engage with team lead on progress and issues related to deliverables.
• Maintain standards and participate in peer code reviews.
• Assist IT architecture reviews and author white papers as needed.
