  • Salary Range: $93,750 - $206,250

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $93,750-$206,250 plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. The range represents the amount BNSF | Tech reasonably expects to pay based on the role's level, scope, and responsibilities. Compensation is determined by location, skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Overview

As a Network Engineer, you will leverage your passion for solving challenges to empower your business partners by building automated network infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting a highly converged IP network.

Basic Qualifications
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in network engineering
  • Experience designing and building large-scale networks
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for remote teamwork
  • Experience with Switching and Routing Protocols (Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with automation via device APIs
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with network operating systems (Cisco IOS, SONiC, Arista EoS, Panorama, PanOS)
  • Firewall policy management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Willingness to not require future assistance from BNSF for employment authorization
  • Experience in transportation industries (Rail, Shipping, Airline, Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain)
