Job Description: Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. The Trust and Safety Experience team owns all customer-facing components of the Trust & Safety Platform. The team supports user interfaces for Affirm products like Card, Savings, Prequal, Checkout, User Portal, and Repayment flows across various geographies. You will be responsible for building optimizations through experimentation and improving end-to-end conversion.

What You’ll Do
  1. Work with product and engineering managers to implement business-critical features enabling new user experiences across the entire stack (mobile, web, backend).
  2. Consistently generate simple and elegant designs, and write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.
  3. Build relationships with people across engineering and other organizations for the design, implementation, rollout, and maintenance of projects.
  4. Actively participate in making their team and workplace an inclusive environment for people from all backgrounds.
What We Look For
  • 1-2 years of experience as a software engineer or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Self-driven and motivated engineer who takes pride and ownership in navigating through ambiguities and solving complex technical/organizational problems.
  • Proficiency in front-end web application development using React and Redux.
  • Comfortable working with back-end APIs and models (we use Python, Flask).
  • Knowledgeable in web best practices, e.g., browser capabilities, unit and integration testing (we use Webdriver IO, Playwright, Jest, React Testing Library).
  • Comfortable partnering with product managers and designers with attention to detail.
  • Great communicator and collaborator.
  • Good product and design sense.
  • A humble team player who places the needs of others first and participates in peer development.
  • This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
