Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 1 to support the DAC effort. The role involves designing, coding, testing, debugging, and enhancing software across analytics, real-time systems, and data management domains.

You will work independently or with a team to convert requirements into robust software solutions. Applicants should have a TS/SCI clearance, 7+ years of software engineering experience, a CS degree, and strong Java plus Hadoop/HDFS/Hive/Pig experience.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
7 years of Software Engineer experience in similar scope.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Strong Java experience.
Experience with distributed Big Data stores (NoSQL) like HBase/Accumulo/BigTable.
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (MapReduce, Hive, Pig).
Experience with JSON/BSON serialization.

Responsibilities

Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
Debug existing software and correct defects.
Integrate software into new or modified systems or environments.
Develop data queries for databases or data repositories.
Lead team on projects as appropriate to the process.
Develop algorithms to meet performance and functional standards.
Assist with testing and validation procedures.
Document software and system designs.
