Job summary

The Trade Desk in Bellevue, WA is hiring a Software Engineer I to design, develop, test and maintain web services at scale using C#, ASP.NET and HotChocolate. You will optimize code and queries and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver reliable systems.

The requirements include a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and at least one year of OO language experience, JS and React, plus familiarity with REST, Linux, SQL, and cloud platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field.
• One year of software development experience in OO languages.
• One year of web development experience with JavaScript and React.
• Experience with REST API frameworks; distributed systems; Linux; Python and shell scripting; relational databases and SQL; client-server architecture; and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain web services at scale with C# and ASP.NET/HotChocolate.
• Optimize application code, queries, and distributed system design to reduce costs.
• Build developer tools using C# and Python and troubleshoot systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define requirements.

Job Title: Software Engineer I

Location: 10770 NE 8th, Suite 700, Bellevue, WA 98004

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in Bellevue, WA.

Job Duties: Design, develop, test and maintain web services at scale with C# programming language and both ASP.NET and HotChocolate frameworks. Optimize application code, database queries, and distributed system design to reduce infrastructure cost. Build command line or web based developer tools using C# and Python. Troubleshoot various systems including operating systems, build & deployment systems, and application systems. Collaborate in discussions with engineers, product managers and internal stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications. Offer guidance to new developers on team workflows and system architecture, and deliver feedback on code quality, performance, and maintainability through code reviews. Independently plan and execute projects and tasks with a clear understanding of priorities, KPIs and ROIs. Participate in designing and building out monitoring, testing and validation tools. Implement application features and bug fixes according to modern software engineering techniques and best practices without guidance.

Salary: $151,400 - $227,000 / year

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have one (1) year of software development experience in Object Oriented languages. Must have one (1) year of web development experience with JavaScript and React. Must have one (1) year of experience with: REST API frameworks; distributed system; software development on Linux operating system, including Git; python and shell scripting; relational databases and writing SQL queries; client-server architecture; and cloud platforms and technologies similar to AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $151,400 - $227,000 USD.
