Software Engineer I

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Remote: 100% Remote

Contract Position

Description

Experience: 1 - 3 years.

We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have expertise in deploying infrastructure and services within Microsoft Azure, focusing on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep and Terraform.

Responsibilities

1. Deploy Azure infrastructure and services to new environments, including VMs, Networking, Storage, Databases, App Services, and serverless functions.
2. Use and adapt existing IaC scripts with Bicep and Terraform to automate resource provisioning and management.
3. Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment.
4. Ensure infrastructure security, scalability, and reliability.
5. Monitor Azure environments for performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.
7. Collaborate with development and operations teams on migration efforts.
8. Document deployment processes and script modifications.
9. Keep current with Azure deployment best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and managing Azure infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Bicep and Terraform.
• Ability to adapt existing IaC codebases for different environments.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of networking, security, and monitoring in Azure.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• This is a contract role.

Additional Details

Duration: 3 months

Work Schedule: Full-time, 8am to 4pm (Flex)

Main Responsibilities

1. Deploy infrastructure and microservices to FedRamp environment.
2. Implement security scans and standardize code per FedRAMP guidelines.
3. Document deployment and security process updates.

Key Contributions

• Deploy Video Services product to FedRamp.
• Implement and document security measures for Video Services.
• Standardize Video Services code.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Knowledge of Azure Cloud.
• Experience with Bicep and Terraform CI/CD deployment.
• Proficiency in Java, Terraform, Bicep.
• Mid-Level experience.
