Job description
Software Engineer - Grafana Cloud Integrations | Germany | Remote

Germany (Remote)

Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global impact. Grafana is used by millions of users and thousands of companies to monitor and visualize observability data. We build Grafana Cloud and the Grafana Enterprise Stack, with components like Grafana Mimir, Loki, and Tempo.

We are scaling rapidly while maintaining our open-source roots, collaborative culture, and focus on meaningful work. We value transparency, autonomy, and trust in our team.

You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, consider applying for a potential career-defining opportunity.

This role is available for candidates located in Germany.

The Opportunity:

The Grafana Cloud Observability department helps developers understand the health and performance of applications and infrastructure in any environment. We provide tools to instrument code, ingest observability data into Grafana Cloud, and visualize and explore it.

In this role, you will contribute to the portfolio of integrations that enable customers to collect and visualize metrics from various systems and applications. The software you build is a core building block for Grafana Cloud users and you will contribute to Open Source projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop and maintain features as part of Observability solutions in Grafana Cloud.
  • Design and implement scalable integrations for various infrastructure components, databases, and applications.
  • Build prototypes and present ideas within a cross-functional team.
  • Stay up to date with cloud-native technologies and development methodologies.
  • Represent Grafana Labs at meetups, conferences, and online forums.

As Grafana Labs is remote-first, we provide guidance and regular video check-ins. Independent attitude and good communication skills are essential.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related fields, with proficiency in at least one programming language. We use Go, but familiarity with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar languages is welcome.
  • Experience delivering projects autonomously from start to finish.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.

Bonus Points For:

  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining Open Source projects.
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies.

What you’ll bring to the role:

We expect you to be comfortable in a remote-first culture, with collaboration and respect as core values. You should contribute to discussions and support the team’s decisions.

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic scope of work.
  • Interest in solving complex problems and improving processes for ourselves and customers.
  • A passion for observability and willingness to share knowledge through documentation and blog posts.
  • Interest in contributing to Open Source communities such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
  • Curiosity about new programming languages and frameworks, and a desire to explore how things work.

Compensation and Benefits:

In Germany, the base compensation range for this role is EUR 73,000 – EUR 92,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed during interviews. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to align incentives with Grafana Labs’ success. Compensation ranges are country specific; recruiters will discuss the local market range and benefits at the start of the process.

Why You’ll Thrive at Grafana Labs:
