About Data Engine

Our Generative AI Data Engine enables the development of advanced large language models (LLMs) and generative models through RLHF (Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback), human data generation, model evaluation, safety, and alignment. The data we produce is crucial for shaping how humanity interacts with AI.

About our Tasking Experience team

Our core business challenge is generating high-quality data. The Tasking Experience team develops web-based applications that allow contributors to annotate data for language model training and evaluation. As a Software Engineer, you will focus on building web interfaces for large-scale data collection, working on task design, contributor feedback, automated data validation using LLMs, and front-end architectures (primarily React-based).

Responsibilities:

• Own significant areas of our product
• Build features end-to-end: front-end, back-end, system design, debugging, and testing
• Deliver high-quality experiments quickly to engage users
• Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to production
• Influence team culture, values, and processes
• Mentor less experienced engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality products at scale
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate ideas into engineering solutions
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively
• Excited to join a hybrid team in San Francisco or New York City

Compensation packages include base salary, equity, and benefits. The salary range for this role in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle is $160,000–$192,000 USD, depending on location, skills, experience, and other factors. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement plans, a learning stipend, PTO, and potentially additional benefits like a commuter stipend. Details will be shared during the hiring process.
