About the role

Applied Intuition is building an end-to-end product that empowers government teams to rapidly develop, deploy, evaluate, and operationalize machine learning models for critical national security applications. This is a ground-up initiative, offering the unique opportunity to build a vital solution from 0 to 1 and then scale it to meet significant demands. You'll be a foundational member of a fast-moving team, directly impacting strategic capabilities and enhancing national defense.

As a full-stack engineer, you'll be involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from initial design and development to ongoing support in challenging operational environments. You will be critical in bringing the latest and greatest software advancements to the warfighter.

At Applied Intuition, you will:
  • Design, develop, and maintain a complete end-to-end product enabling government programs to effectively collect and manage data for ATR (automated target recognition)
  • Work across the full stack: frontend, backend, data management, and cloud & edge infrastructure
  • Build and optimize robust data pipelines to support data collection, data labeling, data indexing, machine learning model training, and inference
  • Work on ML-adjacent tooling and infrastructure that facilitates the entire machine learning lifecycle
  • Collaborate directly with government customers to gather requirements, provide technical support, and ensure our solution meets their evolving needs
  • Lead the development of features from inception to delivery, taking ownership of key components
  • Help architect and scale our product as it grows, ensuring performance, reliability, and security
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Passion for the defense and national security space
  • Proven experience as a full-stack software engineer
  • Familiarity with building and managing data pipelines
  • Experience with or a strong interest in machine learning adjacent work
  • A track record of building software solutions from scratch (0->1) and scaling them
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with customers to understand their needs and deliver impactful solutions
Nice to have:
  • Willingness to get clearance, previous security clearance, or active security clearance
  • Experience working with defense technology in Silicon Valley
