Job summary

Evlo AI is seeking a software engineer to build scalable full-stack features, combining TypeScript/JavaScript with React frontends and Node.js backends. You will own API design, database schemas, and deployment on cloud platforms, contributing to high-performance interfaces and robust testing.

Expect collaboration across product and design to deliver measured, high-quality increments. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, strong tooling, and ongoing improvements to development practices

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience with production ownership of both frontend and backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, plus at least one backend language: Node.js, Python, Go, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with React and modern frontend tooling (Next.js, state management, testing libraries).
• Solid database experience: PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
• Comfort working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with containerized deployment workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Bonus: Experience with GraphQL, real-time systems (WebSockets, event-driven architecture), or mobile development (React Native/Flutter)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js serving production traffic at scale.
• Own backend services end-to-end: API design, PostgreSQL schema design, caching strategies, and integration with Kafka or SQS.
• Build responsive frontend interfaces in React with strong attention to performance, bundle size, and UX quality.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (or GCP) using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines - including on-call participation and incident response.
• Write comprehensive tests - unit, integration, and E2E - and maintain high code quality through rigorous code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to break down ambiguous requirements into scoped, shippable increments.
• Improve engineering practices across the team: tooling, observability, documentation, and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using TypeScript, React, and Node.js (or a similar typed backend stack) serving production traffic at scale
