Beacon AI in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Frontend Web App Engineer to own frontend components for our flight safety web app and to integrate real-time data streams.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to build user-facing features, optimize performance, and contribute to reusable components and shared libraries that scale with our data platform.

Own frontend components for Beacon AI's flight safety web app and integrate real-time data streams

Compensation: $135,000 - 225,000 USD / year

Role Overview

We are seeking a Frontend Web App Engineer to join our team and help build high-impact web interfaces that integrate with our flight safety platform. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to develop user-facing features that enable interaction with complex aviation data. You'll contribute to production systems, grow your technical skills, and play a meaningful role in advancing flight safety and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement React-based features for web applications that work with real-time and historical aviation data.
• Integrate, process, and visualize data from multiple sources, including live streams and archived datasets.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers on feature design and implementation.

What Will Make You Successful

• 2+ years of experience building user-facing web applications, or equivalent experience through internships, projects, or coursework.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, and modern web standards (HTML/CSS).
• Familiarity with asynchronous frontend patterns and working with APIs or data streams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
• Attention to code quality, performance, and maintainability.

Bonus Points

• Passion for aviation and a desire to improve air travel efficiency and safety.
• Experience with mapping or geospatial tools such as Mapbox or Cesium.
• Exposure to live data or video streaming concepts.

Work Location

This is a hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA, with 3+ days per week onsite and the option to work remotely on remaining days.
