Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a frontend engineer to tackle complex problems across the stack, delivering reliable features. You’ll work on frontend architecture, data visualization, and UI workflows, collaborating with our CTO to design core systems spanning multiple clouds.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with Svelte, SvelteKit, or equivalent modern frameworks.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and web app architecture.
• Advanced proficiency with TailwindCSS for scalable UIs.
• Strong understanding of interaction patterns, layouts, accessibility, and responsive UI.
• Hands-on experience with modern build tools (Vite, ES modules, bundlers, Bun).
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Experience developing UX for self-serving applications in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and a documentation-first mindset.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to trade off in evolving products.

Responsibilities

About the role

We're looking for talented engineers who thrive on working on complex problems and solving them through building reliable and easy to use features. You'll work across the frontend stack, API ingestion, data representations, complex proprietary data visualization, and agentic UI workflows.

This is a hands-on role where you'll partner with engineers and our CTO to design and implement core systems spanning multiple clouds. If you enjoy solving ambiguous data problems by building the backbone of a modern SaaS platform, this role is for you.

What we're looking for

• Experience developing good UX focused on self-serving applications to encourage product led growth
• Experience in a fast-paced and frequent code deployment environment

• Strong technical judgment and ability to make informed tradeoffs in an evolving product environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Playwright for end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with component library architecture or design system engineering.
• Experience optimizing frontend performance at scale.
• Exposure to complex, data-dense interfaces or enterprise-grade web applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).

Work setup

Hybrid role based in New York City, with an office in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
