Job summary

North Cloud in New York City is seeking a talented frontend engineer to build reliable, scalable UI features across the frontend stack. You’ll work on API ingestion, data representations, and complex proprietary data visualization, partnering with engineers and our CTO to design and implement core systems spanning multiple clouds.

You will own features end-to-end from architecture through testing and deployment, with an emphasis on performance, accessibility, and a coherent design system.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with Svelte, SvelteKit, or equivalent modern frameworks.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and web application architecture.
• Experience with TailwindCSS and accessible, responsive UI design.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain user-facing features using SvelteKit, Svelte 5, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.
• Implement scalable, maintainable frontend structures and architecture.
• Build responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces optimized for clarity and consistency.
• Collaborate with product and backend engineering to refine specifications, workflows, and API contracts.

About The Role

We’re looking for talented engineers who thrive on working on complex problems and solving them through building reliable and easy to use features. You’ll work across the frontend stack, API ingestion, data representations, complex proprietary data visualization, and agentic UI workflows. This is a hands-on role where you’ll partner with engineers and our CTO to design and implement core systems spanning multiple clouds. If you enjoy solving ambiguous data problems by building the backbone of a modern SaaS platform, this role is for you.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with Svelte, SvelteKit, or equivalent modern frameworks.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and web application architecture.
• Advanced proficiency with TailwindCSS for building scalable and consistent UIs.
• Strong understanding of interaction patterns, layout systems, accessibility, and responsive UI.
• Hands-on experience with modern build tools (Vite, ES modules, bundlers, Bun).
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit or integration).
• Experience developing good UX focused on self-serving applications to encourage product led growth
• Experience in a fast-paced and frequent code deployment environment
• Excellent communication skills and a disciplined, documentation-first mindset.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to make informed tradeoffs in an evolving product environment.
  

Nice to have

• Experience with Playwright for end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with component library architecture or design system engineering.
• Experience optimizing frontend performance at scale.
• Exposure to complex, data-dense interfaces or enterprise-grade web applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).

Hybrid role based in New York City, with an office in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

140,000 - 180,000 USD per year (Brooklyn HQ)
