Job summary

Salient, a San Francisco-based AI software company, seeks a Software Engineer for Front-End to build powerful, intuitive interfaces, ship features, and partner with product, design, and AI teams.

You’ll own end-to-end front-end features, craft reusable UI components, visualize data, and deliver high-performance interfaces on a rapid release cycle. In-person 4 days/week in SF, contributing to a fast-moving, customer-focused product.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building production front-end applications.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript tooling.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, performance, and accessibility.
• Experience with data visualization libraries (Chart.js, D3) and building UI components.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer for our Front-End to build powerful, intuitive interfaces that help users navigate and act on complex data. You’ll work closely with product, design, and AI teams to craft elegant UIs, define frontend architecture, and ship features that directly improve the user experience at scale.

You’ll be an early and visible member of a small, fast-moving engineering team - owning end-to-end features, contributing to UI strategy, and helping shape the future of our product as we scale beyond voice.

What You’ll Do

What you’ll bring

• 4+ years of experience building production front-end applications

• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and front-end tooling

• Deep understanding of responsive design, browser performance, and accessibility

• Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., Chart.js, D3, etc.)

• Customer-obsessed mindset - you actively engage with users, understand their workflows, and translate their pain points into product improvements

• Strong sense of ownership and bias for action - you move quickly, make pragmatic trade-offs, and care deeply about delivering value to real customers

• Thrives in an environment where product feedback comes directly from production users and enterprise partners

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

• Located in (or willing to relocate to) San Francisco
