Job summary

Stripe, LLC. is seeking engineers to develop platforms that minimize financial and regulatory risk while ensuring a top-notch user experience. You will diagnose production issues across services and collaborate with product, policy, legal, operations and data science teams to mitigate risks.

The role requires heavy data-driven analysis with SQL and visualization tools, plus experience in Trust and Safety domains. 100% remote work is available for multiple positions in California and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Ruby, Python or Go.
• Experience performing data-driven investigations using SQL and visualization software.
• Experience building systems across multiple services and stack layers.
• Experience translating business requirements into software designs and requirements.
• 3+ years building platforms to minimize financial and regulatory risk.
• 3+ years working in the Trust and Safety industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage platforms and solutions to minimize financial and regulatory risk while maintaining excellent user experience.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across various services and throughout the tech stack.
• Proactively identify, analyze, and swiftly mitigate emerging risk patterns.
• Partner with diverse stakeholders, which include: engineering, product, policy, legal, operations, and data science teams.
• Collaborate with other engineers to build modular, composable Fraud control systems.
• Interact with the product teams to understand user pain points and requirements to inform roadmap and prioritization.

Who you are

Minimum requirements

Must have a Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) years of post-bachelors, progressive experience in Software Engineering.

Must also have five (5) years of experience in each of the following:

• One of the following programming languages: Java, Ruby, Python or Go;
• Performing data-driven investigations and analysis to inform decision-making using SQL and visualization software;
• Working with systems agnostic of programming languages;
• Translating business requirements into tangible software requirements and system designs; and
• Identifying and resolving production issues that span multiple services and stack layers.

Must also have three (3) years of experience in each of the following:

• Building platforms and solutions to minimize financial and regulatory risk while maintaining high quality user experience; and
• Working within the Trust and Safety industry.

Salary: $221,187 - $285,600/yr.

This salary range represents the base salary range for the role and any sales commissions / sales bonuses targets, if applicable, would be in addition to the base salary.

40 hrs/week

100% Telecommuting permitted.
