Software Engineer, Flutter at Headspace (Remote)

Headspace is seeking a skilled Flutter Software Engineer to join the Engagement org. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality mobile applications that bring Headspace's mission to life. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, architect, and implement solutions that enhance the functionality, performance, and user experience of our mobile platform. Using Flutter, you will build engaging and reliable applications that integrate with backend services and deliver value to our users.

What you will do

• Design and develop content experience features for the Headspace mobile application, delivering meaningful user experiences aligned with our mission.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create detailed technical specifications and assess the feasibility of new features and products.
• Write and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable code, following best practices.
• Conduct thorough unit testing to ensure robustness and usability across edge cases.
• Stay current with industry trends and integrate emerging technologies to enhance development efficiency and product quality.
• Leverage mobile architectures and design patterns to shape the future of Headspace’s mobile platform.
• Document and follow Headspace’s methods and frameworks, promoting quality and continuous learning.
• Migrate/integrate existing native features to Flutter where applicable.

Required Skills

• Extensive mobile development experience: 3+ years building high-quality mobile apps.
• Flutter expertise: 1+ years with Flutter, including familiarity with frameworks, libraries, and APIs.
• Strong architectural knowledge: mobile native technologies, design patterns (MVC, MVVM), TDD, and robust unit testing.
• Proficiency with development tools: Android SDK, Git, and other essential mobile tools.
• Commitment to quality: skilled in unit testing, edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Experience with native Android.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with native Android and iOS is strongly preferred
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related experience
• Experience with MVVM, CI/CD is a plus
• Experience with flutter_bloc is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated new hire base salary range for this full-time position is $100,800 - $161,000 plus equity and benefits. Salary ranges are based on job, level, and location within the United States. Individual compensation is determined by location, experience, skills, and education. Your recruiter will provide details on the specific salary range for your location.

Base salary is part of Headspace Total Rewards, which also includes stock awards, healthcare coverage, wellness stipend, retirement matching, Headspace membership, parental leave, and more. Additional details will be provided during the recruitment process.
