The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer (EO-IR)-Journeyman to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

A typical day as a Software Engineer (EO-IR)-Journeyman may include:

  • Develops and operates EO/IR modeling and simulation software in C++ using Qt.
  • Maintains existing software written in C.
  • Provides support to EO/IR flight testing to include operating data capture equipment and developing "quick look" data analysis software.
  • Develops and uses data analysis scripts to support analyzing system performance using Python or MATLAB.
  • Works with SMEs to develop new algorithms and analyze performance of existing algorithms.

Must-haves:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering: Degrees in Engineering, Math and Physics may qualify.
  • 3 years of experience using C++.
  • 5 years of experience working with electronic warfare (EW) modeling and simulation.
  • Experience developing software on Linux.
  • Experience using MATLAB.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with source control management such as Git.
  • Experience using Qt.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. Overnight travel will be required. The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
