Job summary

IPG Defense seeks a mid-level Software Engineer to develop device-interface and systems-integration software linking IPG platforms to external systems. You will work from ICDs to build reliable interfaces in C#/Qt, prototype with embedded hardware, and support lab and field integration.

The role targets mid-level experience; junior and senior candidates may be considered based on qualifications. On-site work in Huntsville, AL with opportunities across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–7 years software development experience.
• Proficiency in C# and/or C++ with Qt.
• Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, RS-232 between devices.
• Experience implementing software interfaces from ICDs or similar specs.
• Hands-on experience with robotics or embedded platforms (Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Implement software interfaces from ICDs in C# and C++/Qt.
• Develop and debug communication links over TCP/IP, UDP, RS-232.
• Integrate external devices (radars, sensors, cameras, C2 systems) and verify ICD compliance.
• Build test harnesses, device simulators, and data-logging tools.
• Prototype with Arduino/Raspberry Pi for fixtures and emulators.
• Support lab integration and field testing; troubleshoot across hardware/software.
• Document interfaces and maintain configuration control.
