Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking experienced software engineers to redefine EC2 networking and performance features running on the Nitro System that power Machine Learning workloads.

You will design, review, and implement scalable solutions; mentor junior engineers; collaborate with Senior/Principal Engineers, Product Managers, and cross‑functional teams to shape requirements and architectures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 4+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 4+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
• 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of machine learning model architecture and inference
• Experience developing low‑level systems software, networking dataplane, or performance‑critical services

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
