Job summary

Workday in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the Document Intelligence team to build production-grade AI platforms and multi-agent systems. You will collaborate with ML researchers and engineers to convert novel ideas into scalable, secure services, focusing on planning, reasoning, and action execution frameworks, with strong emphasis on robust deployment and performance.

Qualifications

5+ years of software development experience including design, development, and deployment.
2+ years Python development with production code experience.
2+ years building scalable data pipelines and large datasets.
2+ years deploying production services to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and using Docker/Kubernetes for MLOps.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain AI platform capabilities focusing on tool calling, multi-agent architectures, and human-in-the-loop integrations.
Build ML infrastructure: secure RESTful services in Python and Kubernetes for multi-tenant runtimes.
Collaborate on design reviews, code quality, and maintainable, testable software.
