Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a software engineer to participate in collaborative teams developing real-time and application software for aerospace systems. You will contribute to requirements, design, development, and testing across complex software solutions.

The role requires 2+ years of OO programming in C++/Java, the ability to obtain an interim Secret security clearance, and U.S. citizenship. Onsite work in the US is expected with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related (STEM) degree.
• Minimum of 2 years professional software programming experience in development, integration, or test using C++, Java or similar object-oriented software language.
• The ability to obtain and maintain an interim Secret U.S. security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

• Participate in collaborative, integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications.

• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
• Experience with integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible
• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development pipeline
• Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Linux Operating Systems
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles
