Job summary

MetLife is seeking an Early Career Technologist to help develop and support software applications and platforms, including AI-enabled features, in a collaborative, agile environment. You will contribute to full stack development (UI, API, Data), participate in code reviews, and help integrate GenAI capabilities to build scalable, secure solutions for customers worldwide.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• Internship or academic project experience in software development or AI/ML.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills to deliver high-quality software.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).
• Basic understanding of software design principles and coding best practices.
• Basic knowledge of secure coding practices and automated testing.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).

• Basic knowledge of secure coding practices and automated testing.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with tools like GitHub CoPilot, Azure DevOps, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Database concepts, design, and development
• Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Exposure to AI/ML and other technology concepts such as:
• Prompt engineering and LLM APIs (e.g., Azure OpenAI)
• AI SDKs and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, Semantic Kernel)

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role rrequiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $65,200 - $86,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation and stock‑based long‑term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
