Job summary

Alexander Technology Group seeks a Software Engineer in Boston for a 12-month contract, hybrid work with 3 days onsite. You will design, build, and modernize enterprise software supporting Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, and Compliance in a fast-paced financial setting.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, cloud and on-premise modernization, and integration with platforms like Charles River IMS/OMS and SimCorp Dimension.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python.
• Advanced SQL experience.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with IMS, OMS, or Portfolio Management Systems.
• Background in asset management, investment management, hedge funds, or financial services.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Charles River Development (CRD) or SimCorp Dimension.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java and/or Python.
• Build integrations with portfolio management and trading platforms, including Charles River IMS/OMS and SimCorp Dimension.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database solutions.
• Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality software.
• Support modernization initiatives across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Partner with business and technology teams to deliver innovative solutions.
