Job summary

GC2IT is seeking a Software Engineer in Reston, VA to design, develop, enhance, and support mission-critical Point-of-Entry systems deployed worldwide. The role combines software engineering, cloud development, troubleshooting, and collaboration with leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualified candidates have a TS/SCI clearance, a related engineering degree, and hands-on experience with Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, and HTML. AWS and cloud-based system design are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant experience in software engineering and/or software development.
• Demonstrated experience with Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, and HTML.
• Experience designing and developing client/server architectures.
• Experience designing and developing cloud-based systems; AWS experience is preferred.
• Understanding of data transport concepts.
• Experience analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems involving program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect system enhancements and expansions using model-based design principles.
• Incorporate reliability, availability, and maintainability concepts into system designs.
• Plan and support execution of global system upgrades while maximizing system uptime.
• Collaborate with program leadership to prioritize work, establish development schedules, and support on-time delivery of features.
• Develop software that supports Point-of-Entry sites worldwide.
• Develop and optimize software development processes to maximize customer mission success.
• Rapidly troubleshoot and correct software discrepancies to maximize system availability.
