Job summary

NetApp, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 4 for the Platform Engineering team focusing on CI/CD and developer productivity. You will design, build, and operate scalable CI/CD platforms to help engineering teams release software reliably.

You will collaborate with software, QA, SRE, security, and platform teams to improve release velocity, automation, and quality, while mentoring engineers and shaping our delivery ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, CI/CD Engineering, or related roles.
  • Proven experience designing, building and operating enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and driving engineering best practices.
  • Strong software development background in cloud-native and distributed systems environments.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD platforms supporting multiple teams and products.
  • Develop reusable pipeline templates, shared libraries, and automation frameworks to standardize delivery practices.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, release, and infrastructure provisioning workflows.
  • Improve developer productivity by reducing manual processes and enabling self-service automation.
  • Integrate security, compliance, and governance controls into CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines.

Job Summary

NetApp is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer 4 to join our Platform Engineering team with a focus on Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Developer Productivity. In this role, you will design, develop, and operate scalable CI/CD platforms that enable engineering teams to build, test, secure, and deploy software efficiently and reliably.

You will work closely with software engineers, quality engineering, SRE, security, and platform teams to improve release velocity, increase automation, and enhance software quality across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong software development skills with deep expertise in CI/CD systems, cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and DevSecOps practices.

As a senior technical contributor, you will drive platform improvements, establish engineering standards, mentor team members, and influence the evolution of our software delivery ecosystem.

Job Requirements
  • 8-12 years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, CI/CD Engineering, or related technical roles.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline.

The target salary range for this position is 170,000 - 253,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
