Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to estimate timelines and workloads and communicate estimates clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the SDLC from requirements through implementation and testing.

Job Description

Anakim Consulting Inc. is hiring a Mid level Software Engineer with experience applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to support software and solutions development in an AWS enterprise cloud environment. Qualified candidates will have experience working as part of a collaborative cross‑functional team across the full software development lifecycle in a DevOps environment. Experience supporting cloud‑native architectures is preferred. Prior experience with image processing or satellite ground systems is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a dynamic DevSecOps team designing, implementing, and maintaining software components for complex systems
• Contribute across software development lifecycle, from requirements and planning stages, and implementing solutions from established design artifacts
• Support task estimates
• Participate in test development, execution, review, documentation, and reporting
• Conduct analysis and manage change requests according to established Configuration Management process
• Apply analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, as required
• Serve as participant and/or facilitator for design and code technical reviews
• Other duties working across full SDLC, as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government security access (Public Trust level)
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or related discipline (Equivalent years of related experience or training may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• 5+ years of related software engineering experience supporting DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in AWS enterprise technology environment
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Demonstrated proficiency coding in Python, Java, C/C++, and Perl
• Experience developing and executing unit tests, integration tests, and system-level tests
• Experience creating and maintaining system documentation and test reporting
• Prior development interfacing with database systems and relational databases
• Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and operating models
• Demonstrated experience working hand‑on with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and containerization supporting DevOps environment
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and technologies such as AWS or Terraform
• Demonstrated proficiency with scripting in one or more languages such as Python, PowerShell or Bash to support automation tasks
• Experience with Change Management using Git or similar tools
• Ability to estimate timelines and workloads and estimate cost strategies to optimize implementation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to present technical information to technical and non‑technical team members
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Cloud Services such as S3, EC2, EKS, ECR, and Lambda is preferred
• Configuration Management experience using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools is preferred
• Professional or Specialty AWS Certification is a plus
• Terraform Associate Certification is a plus
• Experience with Postgres is preferred
• Experience or strong understanding of Agile methodologies is preferred
• Understanding of geographical concepts and map projections is a plus
• Experience with remote sensing, signals processing, digital imaging, or geographical systems is a plus
• Development experience using modern software engineering practices such as Artificial Intelligence for software code generation and documentation is preferred
