Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a skilled C++ Software Engineer to join the Specs Lens Platform team. You will design, develop, and support LensCore features powering AR experiences across Specs, Snapchat Lenses, and Lens Studio.

You will optimize the LensCore engine for Specs, collaborate with multiple teams, and participate in feature planning and technical specification creation to drive cutting-edge AR capabilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry C++ development experience.
• Experience with rendering APIs (DirectX/Metal/Vulkan/OpenGL).
• Experience with a 3D rendering engine like Lens Studio/Unity/Unreal.
• Knowledge of Python or JavaScript.
• BS in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals.
• Hands-on with AI dev tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or similar).
• Experience with Linux/Unix and CLI tools.
• Experience creating developer-facing APIs and libraries.
• Knowledge of Qt and libraries like OpenCV, Eigen, glm.
• Technical leadership experience.
• Great communication and teamwork.

• Design, develop, and support features for LensCore, the AR engine driving experiences on Specs, Snapchat Lenses and Lens Studio

Requirements

• Experience with rendering APIs such as DirectX, Metal, Vulkan or OpenGL
• Experience with a 3D rendering engine like Lens Studio, Unity or Unreal
• Knowledge of scripting languages (one of Python or JavaScript)
• 6+ years of industry C++ development experience
• BS in a technical field or equivalent years of experience
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Hands-on with AI dev tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or similar)
• Great communication skills; ability to work in a team
• Experience with computer vision, sensors, or machine learning
• Understanding of Linux/Unix environment and command line tools
• Experience with AI-assisted design and development from spec creation to implementation
