About the role

As a Software Engineer focused on Data Platform at Dune, you will ensure our data platform scales to handle increasing volumes of blockchain data. This role involves working on large-scale distributed systems and databases, ideal for those passionate about these areas.

Our data platform:

• Can ingest and process petabytes of data

• Supports third-party data ingestion

• Enables performant SQL queries across datasets

In this role you will:

• Design and develop distributed systems, contributing to architectural decisions

• Tackle technical challenges related to distributed systems, large databases, SQL processing, data modeling, and system performance

• Own components such as data ingestion and decoding within our blockchain data platform

• Write primarily in Kotlin, with some Java and Rust, emphasizing good design and performance

• Improve developer experience through better testing, deployment, and integration processes

• Work with a fast-paced engineering team committed to excellence

• Build AI agents for automation within the team

You might be a great fit if:

• You are a strong generalist with solid CS fundamentals, adaptable to new technologies and solutions

• You understand or are eager to learn about distributed system design

• You have knowledge of blockchain technology and RPC interactions

• You have experience with data lakes and formats like Parquet, Delta, Iceberg
