Motion Recruitment in Boston is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help build scalable cloud-based systems within a central CRM platform. You will work with backend technologies and AI to automate data processing, organization, and usage.

Qualifications include 7+ years in backend engineering, expertise in TypeScript/Node.js, AWS, and CRM experience, with strong communication and tradeoff judgement.

• Strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Own backend features from end to end.
• Design and build scalable backend architecture, APIs, data models, and shared services.
• Develop and optimize high-throughput Node.js services, PostgreSQL queries, APIs, queues, and background processes.
• Communicate with product, engineering leadership, and customers to translate requirements into solutions.

You’ll work with backend technologies and AI to build reliable systems that automate how data is processed, organized, and used.

• Skilled in AI and agentic workflows
• Experience with AWS
• Experience working with CRMs
• Ability to communicate clearly and make practical tradeoffs
