Job summary

Bytoa seeks a software engineer to support a bespoke data analysis platform. You will manage cloud servers, develop and maintain operational software, and provide customer service across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with a B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience building customer-facing software deployments.
• Strong Linux and server troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver platform features.
• Develop Python applications for user and data management.
• Create Ansible playbooks to deploy and maintain 50+ servers.
• Adapt the platform as mission requirements evolve and expand.
• Elicit requirements and feedback directly from users to drive improvements.
• Assist users in utilizing the platform and developing their scripts.

Use your software development and system administrative skills to support a bespoke data analysis platform for users tackling ever-evolving challenges. Your starting role will include managing a set of servers in the cloud, developing and maintaining operational software, and providing customer service. You will be working directly alongside the customer, rotating between multiple sites to engage the entire user base. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with their mission, providing software development consultation and code additions to mission advancing code. Potential growth exists in the form of frontend software development, innovation of user workflows, and taking on leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a cross functional team.
• Develop python applications to perform user and data management.
• Develop Ansible playbooks to deploy and upkeep upwards of 50 servers.
• Adapt the platform as mission requirements progress.
• Elicit requirements and feedback directly from users.
• Assist users in utilizing the platform and aid development of their own script and process development.

Skills Requirements:

• Experience with the following: Python, Django, SQL, Ansible, Git, Linux, Redis, Nginx.
• Basic experience working in Linux environments; comfortable running and troubleshooting servers.
• Experience interacting directly with customers.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS.

Experience Requirement:

• 8yrs. with aB.S. in Computer Science or a related discipline

Clearance Requirement:

• Active TS/SCI with a polygraph
