Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Engineer for the HIL Platform and Services Team within the GM Autonomous Vehicle organization. You will work at the intersection of AV software, AI models, and the hardware systems that enable vehicle autonomy.

This hybrid role involves developing software to approximate high-fidelity testing capabilities, delivering reliable code through CI, testing, and cross-team collaboration as GM advances its next-generation AV platforms.

TheHIL PlatformandServicesteam in the GMAutonomous Vehicle (AV)Organizationis responsibleto developand scalehigh-fidelityand reliableHardware-in-Loopvalidation platformsto test AV software prior to deployment, toensure enterprise usability, end-user functionality, and provide high quality, use case driven signals, such as AV Performance Validation and AV System Reliability.

Role

As a Software Engineer on the HIL Platform and Services Team, you get to be at the intersection of AV software and AI models, and the hardware systems thatare responsible forvehicle autonomy! You will have an opportunity to work onwhat it takes to run, deploy, and test on the next generation of GM AVs.

This is a highly collaborative team with close collaboration with various teamswithinthe core AV organizationincluding EmbodiedAI,Model Deployment, Middleware, OS, SensorApplications, and Vehicle Integration.This role blendsexpertiseinSoftware development, software optimization,managing and deploying HIL Services as a PaaS,and hardware-aware engineering.

What you’ll be doing (Responsibilities)

• Develop software toincrease the capabilities, fidelity, observability and scaleof our HIL Platform and Integration services
• Deliver reliable software through requirements generation, continuous integration, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams
• Deliver complex projects through incremental development

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• 2+ years of experience writing production-quality software
• Strong systemfundamentals and coding abilities (Python, C++)
• Understanding of how to design high-performant software components
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience developing in a Linux environment
• BS, MS or PhD in CS, or related technical field

Compensation

The salary range for this role: is$123,000 to $190,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
