Job summary

iCapital is seeking a Backend Software Engineer at the Associate or Assistant Vice President level to design, build, and operate services powering the iCapital platform. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and partners throughout the lifecycle, working with a stack including Scala, Ruby, and Python.

The role emphasizes strong engineering fundamentals, cloud services, APIs, and the ability to learn new technologies while contributing to production rollout and observability

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience with a modern programming language such as Ruby, Scala, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience building or integrating with APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with automated testing, version control, and modern software delivery practices.
• Understanding of cloud application development and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to plan work, refine specifications, delegate tasks, and validate implementation quality.

iCapital is seeking a Backend Software Engineer at the Associate or Assistant Vice President level. You will design, build, and operate services that power the iCapital platform. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical partners throughout the development lifecycle. Our service-oriented platform primarily uses Scala, Ruby, and Python, but prior experience with these languages is not required. We value strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn new technologies.

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $140,000 depending on level. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
