Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Robust backend development experience, including building and debugging server-side services and APIs.
• Experience with on-call duties in a high-traffic consumer product environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call rotation for live content creation surfaces, triaging and resolving production issues.
• Debug and resolve issues across web frontend and backend services in the live content creation stack.
• Deliver bug fixes, reliability improvements, and small to medium features.
• Improve on-call health by reducing alert noise, refining runbooks, and enhancing monitoring and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain tests to ensure stability of critical live content flows.
• Document findings and solutions for a shared knowledge base.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in the on-call rotation for live content creation surfaces, expertly triaging, investigating, mitigating, and conducting root cause analysis for production issues.
• Debug and resolve complex issues spanning both web frontend and backend services within the live content creation stack.
• Deliver impactful bug fixes, implement crucial reliability improvements, and develop small to medium-sized features that enhance the platform.
• Proactively improve the health of on-call operations by reducing alert noise, refining runbooks, and implementing robust monitoring, logging, and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive tests to ensure the stability and functionality of critical live content creation flows.
• Document findings and solutions thoroughly, contributing to a strong knowledge base for the team.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Robust backend development experience, including building and debugging server-side services and APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, taking ambiguous production issues from identification to resolution, and knowing when to elevate.
• Extensive experience with production support and on-call duties in a high‑traffic consumer product environment, covering triage, debugging, mitigation, and root cause analysis of live issues.
• Comfort navigating and making safe, effective changes within a large, established codebase with minimal onboarding support.
• Excellent written communication skills, essential for asynchronous collaboration and comprehensive documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with live video, streaming, or real‑time media systems.
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Background in reliability engineering, observability, or SEV response.
• Experience working with distributed or globally located teams.
